Wrong Turn (Hope Members Wanted)
Paragraph Count: 4
Krypt stumbled through the undergrowth into a small clearing. Norman had disappeared a few days back, leaving Krypt and Tagg wandering aimlessly for the Busa camp. "I tol' ya we were headin' in the wrong direc'ion," Tagg hissed at him. The teenager shrugged off the otter's chiding and surveyed the area in the fading light.
"Keep your fur on," Krypt told him. "Busa's got to be somewhere in this forest. And at least now we don't have to worry about your stupid pigs anymore." Krypt heard Tagg's wings begin to beat faster as the otter fumed. "Shh!" he warned. Tagg settled down, still grumbling under his breath about his precious pigs. Krypt edged himself farther into the clearing and noticed a large tree standing alone in the midst of the area. "Do you know where we are?"
"I thought ya didn' need liddle ol' me's 'elp," the otter sniffed. Nonetheless, he fluttered closer to the tree and reached out a paw to touch the bark. "Frum wat I've 'eard, Busa lives near a crea'ure vill'age." Tagg called back in a whisper. The falling night only proved to make the atmosphere of the clearing more eerie.
"Let's just make camp for the night," Krypt muttered. The teen wasn't sure why he was being so quiet, it just felt right to be respectful in the clearing. Tagg nodded. The two of them edged out of the clearing and climbed a tree. Krypt pulled out his jacket and Tagg pulled his hat down over his eyes. Without realizing it, both otter and human turned so they faced the tree as sleep overtook the pair of them.
